Temporary Matters

Temporary matters are matters that can be used to fill in draft timecards while awaiting the confirmed, final matter information. Timecards created with temporary matters can be automatically transferred to new client matters.

Note: Timecards must be saved as drafts when using temporary matters.

Temporary matters can be created from either the Temporary Matters popup, or from the Add Time popup.

To create a temporary matter from the Temporary Matters popup:

  1. Open the hamburger menu.
  2. Select Temporary Matters. The Temporary Matters popup appears.
  3. In the Temporary Matters popup, click Create.
  4. Enter the temporary matter name.
Note: Temporary matters can also be renamed or deleted from within the popup.
  5. Click Save.

To create a temporary matter from the Add Time popup:

  1. Click the Add Time button on the ribbon.
  2. Click the Matter field and select Create Temporary Matter.

  4. Click Create and Select. The temporary matter will save and be applied to the timecard.

Transfer Time

When you are ready to transfer timecards from temporary matter information to the confirmed, final matter information, all entries using the temporary matter are automatically shifted over.

To transfer time:

  1. Open the hamburger menu.
  2. Select Temporary Matters.
  3. Click the icon. The Transfer popup displays.
  4. Select the temporary matter you wish to transfer, and the final matter you wish to transfer the time to.
  5. Confirm the change and click Transfer.
  6. Click OK to close the popup and return to the Temporary Matters screen.

Time associated with the temporary matter is now transferred to the final matter.
